Why I Do What I Do:
““We deserve to thrive, not just survive.”
Alma Mater(s): The Art Institute of Las Vegas
Your role in one sentence: I help the Campaign communicate our mission and findings in visually strategic ways so that our work has the highest impact possible.
When I am not at work helping students get to and succeed in college I am…hiking, camping, or somehow exploring Southern California’s natural beauty. There is so much to discover here!.
If not higher education then what cause? Migrant justice and LGBTQIA+ rights
Lilly Garcia was born and raised in the San Fernando Valley by immigrant parents who emphasized the importance of higher education from the start. It was with their encouragement and support that she earned her B.S. in Graphic Design from the Art Institute of Las Vegas, where she learned how to marry her love for strategy with her creative skills.
After college, she decided to follow in her parents’ entrepreneurial steps by starting her own business: a boutique design studio focused on helping other social-justice-minded small business owners tap into the power of strong visual branding.
Her passion for equity and justice brought her to the Campaign, where she finds fulfillment in using her skills to help effect systemic change.
