Senior Vice President of Strategy, Arizona State University
Maria currently serves as Senior Vice President of Strategy at Arizona State University. The Strategy office is responsible for the development and oversight of ASU’s strategies to support growth objectives, it plays a key role in strategy formulation, collaborates with both internal and external stakeholders, and leads cross-functional teams in the development of enterprise-wide operational, capital and investment strategies.
Most recently, she served as chief financial officer for the Minerva Project, a for-profit capital venture startup. A graduate of Claremont McKenna College, where she earned dual degrees in economics-accounting and Spanish, and the Stanford Graduate School of Business, where she earned her MBA, Anguiano has previously served as vice chancellor of planning and budget at University of California, Riverside. She also has experience in the private sector, working for investment bank Barclays Capital and Deloitte.
Maria is a native Californian and serves on the board of the University of California Regents and the James Irvine Foundation. She is a first-generation college graduate.
