Brianna Huynh
Policy Fellow
Sacramento Office
"Every student deserves the chance to thrive in a system that sees them, supports them, and values their potential. I'm committed to building educational policies that make that vision a reality."
Brianna Huynh is a master’s student in mathematics at Cal Poly Pomona with an emphasis in mathematics education. A former community college student, Brianna’s passion for higher education policy began during the implementation of AB 705 — a law that expanded access to transfer-level coursework in California. This formative experience, coupled with her work as a trigonometry instructor and higher education researcher, fuels her commitment to ensuring that reforms are implemented in ways that equitably serve students, faculty, and institutions.
Brianna brings experience from EdTrust and APIA Scholars, where she supported research on college affordability, enrollment trends, and the unique challenges faced by students of color. She is especially interested in the experiences of STEM transfer students and the systems that shape their trajectories.
As a Policy Fellow with the Campaign, Brianna looks forward to deepening her understanding of state-level implementation and contributing to data-informed strategies that uplift the voices of historically excluded students. She will graduate in spring 2026 and hopes to continue bridging policy, research, and practice in a full-time role after completing her degree.

When I am not at work helping students get to and succeed in college I am… exploring new hiking trails, hunting for the best coffee shops, and finding joy in the little moments with friends and family.

If not higher education then what cause? Equity-centered data practices because we can’t solve problems we can’t see, and disaggregated, accessible data is essential to illuminating all our communities’ unique experiences and needs.
