California leads the nation in supporting undocumented students!
All undocumented youth in California have a right to attend college! Since 2001, undocumented students in California, who meet certain criteria, are eligible to pay in-state tuition at public universities like any other California resident. To check if you qualify use the following tool.
College affordability is a major factor determining whether one attends college or not. Undocumented students can receive help to pay for college. Undocumented youth who qualify for in-state tuition are also eligible to apply for state and institutional financial aid through the CA Dream Act. Click here for more information about the CA Dream Act.
While Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) is another tool undocumented youth use to pursue their college dreams and professional goals, California’s programs such as in-state tuition eligibility and the CA Dream Act are independent from DACA. Undocumented youth can apply to California’s programs even if they are not DACA recipients[/one_half]
