Overview of the Supreme Court Decision on Race-Conscious Admissions

In July 2023, the Campaign for College Opportunity was joined by legal experts Art Coleman, Managing Partner and Co-Founder, EducationCounsel; and Thomas Saenz, President and General Counsel, Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund (MALDEF) to share the legal parameters of the Supreme Court’s decision on race-conscious admissions in colleges and universities. We were also joined by high school student Matthew Echeverria who shared the equity, economic, and democratic imperative for advancing equal opportunity to higher education.
