Jessie Ryan Featured on KALW’s State of the Bay

The Campaign for College Opportunity President, Jessie Ryan, joined KALW’s State of the Bay to discuss the University of California’s review of standardized testing in admissions. During the interview, she discussed why reinstating the SAT or ACT would not address underlying college readiness challenges and emphasized evidence-based strategies that expand opportunity while strengthening student success.

The Campaign believes California can improve college readiness without reinstating standardized testing requirements. Instead, policymakers should invest in stronger K-12 preparation, academic supports, and equitable pathways that help all students succeed.
