The Campaign for College Opportunity’s Senior Researcher Dr. Alexis Takagi was featured in the Sacramento Bee discussing findings from the State of Higher Education for Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Californians report. Drawing on the Campaign’s latest research, Dr. Takagi explained how disaggregated data reveals significant disparities in college access, transfer, and completion among Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander communities that are often overlooked when these populations are treated as a single group.

The Campaign’s Senior Researcher Dr. Alexis Takagi, a co-author of the report, emphasized that treating Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander students as a single group masks significant differences in educational outcomes and can leave many communities without the targeted support they need.
