Dr. Michael V. Drake to Step Down as University of California President

As Dr. Michael V. Drake announces his departure from the University of California system, the Campaign for College Opportunity thanks him for his history-making leadership serving as the system’s first Black president. California higher education is unparalleled nationwide, with the UC educating nearly 300,000 diverse students who will build a better future for us all. Therefore, as the Regents embark on a search for a new leader, we call for a transparent process and for student-centered candidates that will continue to ensure the UC’s and California’s future as bastions of inclusion.
