Leading Higher Education Advocates support Yes on Proposition 15 to Increase Revenue for Schools and Community Colleges

Today, The Campaign for College Opportunity, The Education Trust–West, The Institute for College Access & Success, and Public Advocates came together to support and urge Californians to Vote Yes on Proposition 15.

If approved by the voters in November, Proposition 15 would generate critical funding for K-12 schools and community colleges. These resources would provide critical support to the state’s under-resourced education system and its students while it weathers a global pandemic and economic recession.

“As members of a coalition dedicated to racial equity in higher education access and success, we remain more committed than ever to ensuring our state’s students can go to college and graduate. Supporting Proposition 15 could generate $2.6 to 4.6 billion per year for under-resourced schools and colleges to maintain college readiness programs, improve transfer pathways and invest in those supports that close equity gaps and improve student success,” says Jessie Ryan, Executive Vice President for the Campaign for College Opportunity.
