Anahi Matias Santiago is an incoming senior at UC Santa Cruz, pursuing a B.A. in Politics and a B.A. in Education and Latin American & Latino Studies. Throughout her higher education journey, she has been involved in various spaces, including the UC Student Association, the UCSC Chicanx Latinx Resources Center, and the Undocumented Student-Led Network. Anahi’s lived experiences as the proud daughter of immigrants with roots from Oaxaca, Mexico, have shaped her deep commitment to supporting the safety and stability of immigrant communities in higher education. Additionally, she is passionate about bridging research and policy to ensure that educational spaces are accessible to all.

When I am not at work helping students get to and succeed in college… I am reading at the beach!
If not higher education then what cause? I would dedicate myself to immigrant justice, working with research and polices that protect and uplift immigrant communities.
