Anna Marie Ramos

Policy Research Fellow
University of San Francisco (BA), University of California, Davis (MA)

Anna Marie is a first-generation college graduate and former AVID student from San Diego.

As an undergrad, Anna Marie completed a number of internships under policymakers and related to educational practice before coming to understand policy research as a means for improving the social mobility function of higher education. Through her later role as a research assistant at MDRC, she studied variation in statewide postsecondary policy implementation, with an interest in how regional adaptations may differently serve low-income students and students of color. These experiences collectively guide her interest in helping to inform the Campaign’s advocacy efforts.

Anna Marie is currently working towards a Ph.D. in School Organizations and Educational Policy at the University of California, Davis. She has aided in research and policy implementation through the Center for Applied Policy in Education and Wheelhouse: The Center for Community College Leadership and Research. Her doctoral research spans a variety of policies that guide students’ transitions in and out of California’s postsecondary segments.
