Cristal Lopez

Cristal Lopez studies political science and history at California State University, San Bernardino, graduating in 2028.

Originally from Corona and now living in Colton, Cristal worked full-time jobs from age 17 before deciding she was capable of more. A Mexican American and Chicana first-generation student, she began at San Bernardino Valley College and transferred to CSUSB. Cristal credits support programs including S.T.A.R., EOPS and S.A.I.L. with keeping her in school through hard times. She wants policymakers to know that no matter how much higher education is defunded, students will fight for it. Cristal believes every California student deserves a place to sleep.
