Kimberly Basilio

Kimberly Basilio studies Political Science and Chicana/o Studies at California State University, Northridge, graduating in May 2027.

Raised in Reseda by parents who immigrated in pursuit of a better life, Kimberly decided after her first college campus visit that she would go to college to build a better future for her family. As a Mexican American and Chicana first-generation student, she navigated financial aid, applications and the high cost of living. Her proudest accomplishment is finding her voice: she regularly engages campus decision-makers on issues that need attention. Kimberly wants to close racial and ethnic gaps in student retention, and she hopes to be remembered for her unwavering voice.
