Luis Salcido

Luis Salcido studies philosophy of language and English at San Joaquin Delta College, with plans to complete in 2028.

Born in Long Beach and now based in Lodi, Luis is a Mexican American Air Force veteran, Iraq and Afghanistan veteran, a father and the first-generation son of immigrants. After retiring from the Air Force, he returned to school to keep learning and growing, and he says learning later in life has sharpened his mind. As a student parent, he knows firsthand how cost can stand between students and a degree. Luis believes every California student deserves to go to college without taking on massive debt.
