Nesta Nezerwe

Nesta Nezerwe studies Economics and Business Administration at the University of California, Berkeley, graduating in 2029.

Nesta, who is African American, is working to become the first in his family to earn a degree and to inspire other students whose parents did not attend college. As the only member of his family in the United States, Nesta has built his own support system through the Educational Opportunity Program, campus clubs, mentors and lifelong friendships. He sees a gap in college affordability for refugees and first-generation students and wants to help families find sustainable paths to paying for higher education. His message to other students: you are not alone.
