
Raquel Gonzalez
As the Manager of Development, she supports the executive team and the VP of Development and administration in achieving fundraising goals, maintaining knowledge of grants, writing and developing grant proposals, and serving as a contact between the organization and funders.
Raquel’s passion for education comes from her own experience as the first in her family to earn a degree and her journey in higher education. Before the Campaign, Raquel worked at Los Angeles Southwest Community College as a Career Guidance Counselor Assistant. She mentored high school students and assisted them with college applications and scholarships. During her undergraduate career, she also worked for the Los Angeles Writing Project as a teacher’s assistant. She was tasked with creating lesson plans and supporting teachers and students during class hours.
Raquel Gonzalez is a first-generation graduate with a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from California State University Los Angeles. Raquel joined the Campaign for College Opportunity in 2017 while completing her studies. Raquel will earn her master’s degree in Education in May 2023 from CSULA. Her goal is to earn a Doctoral degree. She looks forward to continuing working with students and partners to ensure more students have the opportunity to earn a post-secondary degree.
