Rick Angel
Rick Angel is a communications professional that is committed to social justice and higher education.
Born and raised in the San Fernando Valley by an amazing single mother and legendary grandparents, Rick was taught to work hard, appreciate the opportunities he was given, and help those in need. Not wanting him to be impacted by the constraints of their zip code, his mother worked extra hard to put him through private school. After years of schooling, Rick began to see education as a fundamental human right that benefits everyone.
Rick graduated from the University of San Francisco with a BA in Media Studies and an MA in Public Affairs. Shortly after graduating, Rick went on a figurative communications tour, learning essential communication best practices from Frameworks Institute, Food Chain Workers Alliance, and the Los Angeles Alliance for a New Economy. From there, Rick served as a Council Aide for LA City Councilmember Mike Bonin and a Field Representative for State Senate Majority Leader Hertzberg.

Your role in one sentence: I use words to shine a light on the awesome work that my colleagues do!
When I am not at work helping students get to and succeed in college I am… probably reading a good book.
If not higher education then what cause? Food Justice — from farm to table, food is pretty important.
