Founding Board Member Campaign for College Opportunity
Bill Hauck served as Chair of the Board of Directors for The Campaign for College Opportunity for seven years. Hauck was President of the Sacramento-based California Business Roundtable, a statewide, nonpartisan organization composed of chief executive officers of California’s leading corporations. The Roundtable is also one of the co-founders of The Campaign for College Opportunity. Hauck was also a founder and member of the Board of Directors of Information for Public Affairs Inc. Doing business under the name State Net, the national information services company headquartered in Sacramento maintains a database of legislation introduced in 50 states and Congress. Along with his partner Jud Clark, Hauck led the company for more than 20 years. After retiring from State Net, Hauck served as chairman of the California Constitution Revision Commission and Deputy Chief of Staff for Gov. Pete Wilson. Earlier in his career, he served as Chief of Staff to Assembly Speakers Bob Moretti and Willie L. Brown Jr. More recently, Hauck served as Co-Chair of Gov. Schwarzeneggers California Performance Review Commission. Hauck served as a member of the Board of Trustees for the California State University. He also previously chaired the Board. Originally appointed by Gov. Wilson, he was reappointed in March 2000 to a second eight-year term by Gov. Gray Davis. He also served as chairman of the Board’s Finance Committee. In addition to his work on the CSU Board of Trustees and The Campaign for College Opportunity, Hauck served on the Board of Directors of Blue Shield of California. Bill was a graduate of San Jose State University and participated in the Coro Foundation Internship in Public Affairs.
